St. Andrew's Cathedral is the oldest cathedral in the whole of Australia and was founded in 1819. Located in Sydney's Central Business District, St. Andrew's Cathedral was actually inspired by the grand York Minster in England. Attractions at Sydney's St. Andrew's Cathedral include breathtaking architecture, stained-glass windows, detailed carvings, 'Young Music' concerts every Tuesday lunchtime, organ recitals on Fridays and many other seasonal events.

St. Mary's Cathedral, in the Central Business District of Sydney, is situated across College Street from Hyde Park's north-eastern corner. With Gothic-style architecture, free guided tours, and many historic features, Sydney's St. Mary's Cathedral was built in the late 19th century and took around 14 years to complete. The twin spires on St. Mary's Cathedral were actually added between 1998 to 2000 and have greatly improved the overall appearance. With a cavernous interior and many impressive attractions, St. Mary's Cathedral is actually one of the largest cathedrals in the world.

Sydney's Great Synagogue dates from 1878 and is home to the longest-running congregation in Sydney. Featuring an elaborate ceiling with gold-leaf stars, French Gothic-style wrought-iron gates and many stunning period features, other attractions at Sydney's Great Synagogue include a museum and seasonal exhibitions. The Great Synagogue can be found in the Central Business District of Sydney.

St. James' Anglican Church, in Sydney's Central Business District was built in the early 19th century by convicts and is one of the oldest churches in the city of Sydney. Restored in the mid-1950s, St. James' Anglican Church features striking stained-glass windows, a more modern window in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, free organ recitals on Wednesday lunchtimes between March to December, and guided tours at 14:30 on weekdays.

Founded in 1856, St. Philip's Church was built by architect Edmund Blacket and features Victorian-style architecture. Surrounded by many modern skyscrapers and buildings, Sydney's historic St. Philip's Church is a particularly peaceful church and was the first church in Sydney to be lit by gas.
