Most offices and businesses in the city of Sydney are open on weekdays between 09:00 to 17:30, and most banks in Sydney operate from 09:30 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and remain open until at least 17:00 on Friday. Many of Sydney's largest banking branches open between 08:00 to 18:00 during the week. There are numerous ATM cashpoint machines located throughout the city of Sydney. These Sydney cashpoint machines provide a useful way to exchange currency. Most shops, restaurants and hotels in Sydney accept credit cards, including Visa and MasterCard.
Sydney's shops open from around 08:00 or 08:30 until 17:00 or 17:30 on weekdays and many shops in Sydney have extended opening hours on Thursdays, staying open until 20:00 or 21:00. Shops in Sydney usually open all day on Saturday and although some of Sydney's shops do close on Sunday, many open in Sydney city centre, particularly on Oxford Street.
Working lunches are a particularly popular way to do business in the city of Sydney and locals in Sydney are quick to use first-name terms when appropriate. Some more exclusive restaurants in Sydney have a strict dress code, although the majority of Sydney's restaurants are fairly informal and a relaxed dress code is acceptable.
